Circular Value Creation Management
The “Circular Value Creation Management” bachelor’s program focuses on general material cycles across all stages of industrial value creation, as well as the associated logistics. In addition, it teaches methods and knowledge related to data and information systems that support digital transformation in the context of circularity. Furthermore, the program is combined with a flexible catalog of electives that allows students to pursue individualized specialization in numerous relevant areas, such as manufacturing technologies, materials engineering, data management, or business organization.
You can find the required and elective courses in the Bachelor’s Program in Industrial Engineering module handbook published by the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
The modules offered by the Department of Economics can be found in the Department of Economics module handbook.
Skills and Career Fields
Upon graduation, students who have completed the Circular Value Chain Management track will have a thorough understanding of sustainable production and supply chain processes, as well as a solid foundation in data processing and digital system design. They are able to analyze value chains holistically and identify opportunities for circular and resource-efficient design.
The career opportunities for graduates with this specialization are diverse: Typical entry-level positions are available in manufacturing companies, logistics and supply chain departments, and in sustainability and environmental planning. In addition, opportunities exist in project management, such as in the implementation of circular economy concepts or the design of resource-efficient process chains. Depending on the focus area selected from the elective catalog, graduates may also pursue careers in manufacturing engineering, materials management, or digital data management. Generally, the field of work encompasses activities in planning, development, project management, and process and production optimization.
