Industrial internship
Welcome to the pages of the Internship Office of the Department of Mechanical Engineering. Here you will find important information on the structure, implementation and recognition of the industrial internship for the bachelor's degree programs in mechanical engineering, logistics and industrial engineering.
The internship at a glance
Effective October 1, 2026, the total duration of the internship in the bachelor’s degree programs in Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Engineering will be 18 weeks. Of these, 6 weeks are allocated to the basic internship and 12 weeks to the specialized internship. In the Bachelor’s program in Logistics, no basic internship is required; the specialized internship lasts 12 weeks. The possible areas of activity for both the basic and specialized internships can be found in the Training Plans.
The requirements for the internship, the host company, and the recognition of the internship are described in the Internship Policy. The FAQs provide an excerpt from the Internship Policy and briefly answer the most common questions.
Recognition of your internship
The internship is approved by the Internship Office of the Department of Mechanical Engineering. Instead of the usual internship report, interns answer a few questions reflecting on their internship experience. Providing complete and truthful information is a mandatory requirement for the internship to be approved.
You must apply for recognition of the internship after it has ended via the Online Portal on the Internship Office’s website. To do so, you must answer the reflection questions about the internship and upload the internship certificate by the deadline. You will be notified of the decision regarding recognition via email. In addition, the recognized weeks will be noted in the Online Portal.
