You decide which modules to take from the elective catalogs, in which semester to take the course, and when to take the exam. The examination regulations do not specify any deadlines in this regard and allow you the greatest possible flexibility. If in doubt, you can withdraw from written exams up to one day in advance. Oral exams can be scheduled in consultation with the examiners to ensure they are compatible with your professional obligations.

Many courses are offered in a hybrid format, allowing students to choose between in-person and online participation. This makes it easy to manage your studies even with fluctuating work schedules or business trips.

Students have the opportunity to write their master's thesis in collaboration with a company—ideally their own employer.

The study plan for the part-time option allows students to spread out their modules over a longer period of time, thereby creating a good balance between work and studies. As a result, the standard duration of study is officially extended to 5 semesters. Enrolling as a part-time student may have disadvantages regarding social insurance; your health insurance provider can advise you on this on a case-by-case basis.

The study plan is intended solely as a guide for orientation and planning your studies and does not have to be strictly followed. In general, full-time enrollment offers the same opportunities to structure your studies flexibly.
