New Equal Opportunities Officer at the Department of Mechanical Engineering

Since June, Dr. Anne Antonia Scheidler from the IT in Production and Logistics division has served as the new decentralized equal opportunity officer for the Department of Mechanical Engineering. She is supported and represented by Natalia Straub from the Chair of Business Logistics.

The Dean’s Office is very pleased that Dr. Scheidler and Ms. Straub have taken on this important role and extends its sincere thanks for their commitment.
 

The decentralized equal opportunity office is committed to promoting equal opportunities and diversity in all areas of the department. It supports staff and students with questions regarding gender equality in their daily professional and academic lives, as well as with issues of structural discrimination. Through counseling, networking, and its own initiatives, it helps strengthen a gender-equitable and respectful work and study environment.

As the decentralized equal opportunity officer, Dr. Scheidler is the primary point of contact for issues related to equality within the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
 

In our department, it is important to me that all students and employees feel valued for who they are and for their contributions. For me, equality and diversity are not just buzzwords, but a central component of modern, innovative, and forward-looking engineering.
