Professor Uwe Clausen from the Department of Mechanical Engineering receives award from the Bundesvereinigung Logistik

The award recognizes in particular his more than 15 years of service on the BVL's Scientific Advisory Board and his many years of involvement in the association's network. The award was presented by Professor Dr.-Ing. Thorsten Schmidt, Chairman of the Scientific Advisory Board.
Professor Clausen has been shaping the exchange between science, business and practice within the logistics industry for many years. He contributes his expertise in various subject areas and supports numerous initiatives with technical and strategic impetus.
In addition to his involvement in the BVL, Professor Clausen is intensively committed to promoting young academics. At the Technical University of Dortmund, he supports students and young researchers on their academic and professional path and creates spaces for professional exchange and networking.
One example of this is the "Studententag LogistikRuhr", which Professor Clausen organized a total of ten times up to 2017. The event developed into an important platform for young professionals as part of the nationwide Logistics Day and brought together students, companies and academia.
With the silver badge of honor, the BVL not only recognizes Professor Clausen's many years of commitment, but also his lasting contribution to the further development of logistics.
We would like to congratulate him on this special award.
