On October 8, 2026, the 16th Welcome Event for new students in the international master’s program in Manufacturing Technology (MMT) took place at the Institute of Forming Technology and Lightweight Components (IUL) in the Department of Mechanical Engineering.

Following the opening remarks, Prof. Yannis P. Korkolis, head of the IUL and coordinator of the MMT, gave an introductory presentation to the new students. During the presentation, the other departments involved in the MMT took the opportunity to introduce themselves and their work.

During the discussion that followed, the students, organizers, and advisors were able to get to know one another and make initial connections.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our students who volunteered their time in advance to assist the new MMT students. They supported them with any questions regarding their studies and life in Dortmund.

The MMT is a 4-semester, English-language master’s program offered by the Department of Mechanical Engineering at TU Dortmund University. In 2026, prospective students from 31 countries applied for a place in the Master of Manufacturing Technology program.
