Interdisciplinary Qualification

Formal criteria The module "Interdisciplinary Qualification" serves to deal with the contents of other subject disciplines in an exemplary manner. These are elements outside the module handbooks of the Bachelor's and Master's degree program of the student's own field of study as well as outside the course offerings of the Department of Business and Economics. Beyond that, the choice is left to the students.

It is mandatory that the courses are university courses. In each of the courses taken, a performance (module examination or partial performance) must be achieved, which is concluded with a graded examination. You can also complete the module with several partial performances, if in total at least the credit points required in the module handbook are achieved. The calculation of the module grade is based on § 18 paragraph 8 of the Bachelor and Master Examination Regulations.

Registration In this case, registration for the examination does not take place via the BOSS system. Registration is done directly with the respective chair. Please note the registration information and admission criteria, as well as possible capacity restrictions of the respective courses on the websites of the chairs.

Recognition The certificate of achievement for the "Interdisciplinary Qualification", which was acquired within the framework of the current course of study at the TU Dortmund University, must be submitted directly to the examination office.

Achievements acquired abroad or at another university must be examined on a case-by-case basis. The application for recognition including the certificate of achievement must be sent by e-mail to the study coordination. Please use the following form "Antrag auf Anerkennung von Prüfungsleistungen". The column "Confirmation of equivalence" does not need to be filled out in this case. After approval, the application will be sent directly to the examination office for entry into the BOSS system.

Achievements made in an immediately preceding Bachelor's degree program that have not already been recognized for the Bachelor's degree can usually be recognized as "Interdisciplinary Qualification" for the Master's degree program. The achievements may, but need not, be noted as an additional subject on the Bachelor's certificate. Recognition requires the submission of a transcript of records from the department and the transcript of records from your bachelor's degree. This is always a case-by-case decision!

We are happy to provide you with an excerpt of the courses that can be taken for the Interdisciplinary Qualification. In addition, all events of the TU Dortmund University that meet the criteria (see handling of the module "Interdisciplinary Qualification") may be taken.
