At the end of September, the IT in Production and Logistics (ITPL) department celebrated a festive colloquium to mark its twelfth anniversary. The latest scientific findings in the field of simulation were discussed with a historical view of the subject area and supplemented by practical examples.

After a two-year Corona waiting period, the ITPL was able to celebrate its twelfth anniversary. Since its founding in 2010, simulation has been a core area of the ITPL, which is investigated in various research collaborations with national and international partners. For this reason, the department was pleased to welcome guests, colleagues and long-time friends from this and related fields at the anniversary colloquium.

The topics of the exciting lectures addressed the beginnings of simulation as well as the way to the latest scientific findings and practical developments, be it simulation tools, use cases or practical examples. Related topics, such as data analytics, digital twin or data farming, were also highlighted.

In addition to insights into formal scientific work, the first ITPL Science Slam summarized recent research projects in a humorous manner. Not only completed projects were presented, but also interim results and research ideas. This laid the foundation for further exciting discussions and goal-oriented exchange in a small circle.
