Dr.-Ing. Isabelle Noll, postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Mechanics at TU Dortmund University, looks back on an extremely successful year. For her outstanding dissertation "Thermomechanical modeling and simulation of laser powder bed fusion processes" from 2024, Dr. Noll was awarded two dissertation prizes by the major German mechanics societies.

She received the Dr. Klaus Körper Prize from GAMM and the Best PhD Award from GACM, and was also a finalist for the ECCOMAS PhD Award. Her scientific work has thus been recognized both nationally and internationally.

In addition, Dr. Noll received a competitively awarded Mobility Grant from the Research Alliance Ruhr (RA Ruhr). The grant enabled her to spend two months conducting research at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) in the Mechanics of Materials group in November and December 2025. The aim of the stay is to expand international cooperation and scientific exchange in the field of numerical simulations and material modeling for powder bed-based laser beam melting of metals (PBF-LB/M).

The Department of Mechanical Engineering congratulates Dr.-Ing. Isabelle Noll on these outstanding achievements!
