With the title "Energy and Climate - Together for the Future", this year's call for entries for the Forum Junge Spitzenforschung competition was aimed at innovators in the field of energy and climate protection.
The Returnee" project deals with the integration of a radial turbine into a pressure regulator to utilize ambient heat with the help of the applied pressure potential.
The innovative approach consists of integrating a radial turbine including a generator into the pressure regulator. The actuator of the control valve simultaneously controls the turbine (partial pressurisation). The new combination of pressure regulator and turbomachine represents a significant advance: Such a combination of both assemblies as a construction unit has not yet been realised.
The award recognizes the scientific relevance and practical benefits of the work - a great motivation for the team and all those involved in the project.
