Starting in the summer semester, a new module on "Logistics of the Circular Economy" will be offered for the first time at ITL.

The module "Logistics of the Circular Economy" teaches the basics of the circular value chain of products and materials. For this purpose, a differentiation from linear value creation takes place and the importance of logistics for the Circular Economy is highlighted. Waste management is introduced and the entire supply chain from the extraction of the raw material to the disposal or return of the material to the economic cycle is highlighted. The focus is on the reverse supply chain and the associated sub-processes of "collection" and "disposal". In addition, business models related to circular value creation are presented. In order to convey the basic knowledge, there is a continuous reference to practice in that the contents are illustrated by means of current practical examples and excursions to partners from industry are carried out. In the context of the exercise-accompanying study achievement the different actors along the creation of value chain are introduced on the basis different industries and their meaning for the Circular Economy is worked out by assuming the appropriate roles.

The module is aimed at all logistics students in the Bachelor and can be taken as an elective module. Further information can be found in the module manual "Logistics".
