Research and teaching at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Technical University of Dortmund build on a broad engineering science base and are dedicated to the focus areas of production technology and logistics as well as their digitalization. The Department of Mechanical Engineering is a member of the Faculty Association for Mechanical and Process Engineering (FTMV) and is evaluated annually for quality assurance with regard to the criteria of research, teaching and organisation.
The Department of Mechanical Engineering was again awarded the FTMV seal of Quality for the period from 2024 to 2026.
