Bachelor with mediation science profile: Technology (HRSG)

The study of technology in the bachelor's program with an educational science profile is oriented toward the development of basic professional competencies for teaching and education, assessment, counseling and diagnostics, as well as evaluation and quality assurance. Special attention is given to the ability to deal with diversity.

The program is designed in such a way that the competencies acquired also qualify students for professional fields related to the teaching profession. The bachelor's program prepares students for a Master of Education degree with a focus on Hauptschule, Realschule and Sekundarschule as well as corresponding grades of Gesamtschule (HRSGe).

The subject Technology can be studied as a core subject in the core area as well as a complementary subject. For a core subject study, a didactic basic study in German or mathematics is required within the core area, whereby the subject of the didactic basic study and the complement subject may not be identical. In the complement subject study, a didactic basic study in German or mathematics is also completed within the core area, whereby the subject of the didactic basic study and the core subject may not be identical.

Regardless of the subject combination, the Bachelor's thesis can be taken up after the acquisition of the necessary credits in or after the fifth subject semester.


Bachelor with Rehabilitation Science Profile: Engineering (HRSG/SP)

The study of the subject of technology in the bachelor's program with a rehabilitation science profile is also oriented towards the development of basic professional competencies for teaching and education, assessment, counseling and diagnostics, evaluation and quality assurance. Here, too, special attention is given to the ability to deal with diversity. The B.Sc. prepares students for the M.Ed. teaching profession at Haupt-, Real-, Sekundar- and Gesamtschulen as well as for the teaching profession for special needs education and enables students to understand and teach technical systems and processes. The subject Technology can be taken as a complementary subject or as a (minor) subject in the core area. If technology is chosen as a complementary subject, the previously mentioned modules must be taken; for technology as a (minor) subject, only the module Basic Concepts and Fundamentals of Technology must be taken. For the final thesis, the same regulations apply as for the bachelor's degree with an educational science profile.


Bachelor with subject-specific profile: Mechanical Engineering Technology (BK)

The subject Mechanical Engineering Technology can only be studied as a core subject and can be combined with the complementary subjects English Studies/American Studies, Chemistry, Protestant Theology, Manufacturing Engineering, German Studies, Catholic Theology, Art, Mathematics, Music, Physics, Psychology, Physical Education and Special Education (special focus areas Learning, Emotional and Social Development, Physical and Motor Development, Vision, Language). The Bachelor of Science degree is designed to prepare students for a Master of Education degree in vocational education, to serve as a foundation for Master's degree programs in mechanical engineering, and at the same time to qualify students for work in various fields of employment. Completion of the bachelor's degree program provides a first professional qualification. The study of mechanical engineering provides students with the specialized knowledge and skills required for the demands and changes in the professional world, so that they are capable of scientific work, critical classification of the same and responsible action.

The bachelor's thesis may be taken after the student has earned the required credits or after the fifth semester of study. Teacher candidates for mechanical engineering at the vocational college must complete subject-specific practical studies amounting to 52 weeks.


Bachelor with subject-specific profile: Production Engineering (BK)

The subject Manufacturing Engineering can only be studied as a complementary subject in conjunction with Mechanical Engineering as a core subject. The Bachelor of Science prepares students for a Master of Education degree with a focus on vocational college and provides them with the necessary technical knowledge and skills in mechanical engineering with regard to the requirements and changes in the professional world, so that they are able to work scientifically, to critically classify the knowledge gained and to act on their own responsibility.

The bachelor's thesis may be taken after the required credits have been earned or after the fifth semester of study. Teacher candidates for manufacturing technology at the vocational college must complete practical studies in the scope of 52 weeks.
